We offer a variety of services to private and trade customers, ranging from a diagnosis of an a/c system leak or fault from £30 up to full installations. Repairing and replacing parts is a large part of what we do and can supply the best quality parts from a variety of suppliers, often supplying parts the same quality as the dealer at much more reasonable prices.
Much of our work is dedicated to the car accident repair trade.
We offer a specialised mobile service to these and to other trade services.
Our current clientele includes some of the largest accident repair centres in the south-east, including Porsche, BMW, Mercedes and Bentley Approved Repairers, Jaguar and BMW independent specialists, and Audi VW main dealerships.
We've been doing this for quite a while so most problems are not completely new to us.
We strongly believe honesty is always the best policy. What you see is what you get.
We operate locally within the Gravesend area, our workshop being in Ebbsfleet.
Hybrid and electric vehicles have been around for quite a while now, and we are starting to see a lot more of these type of vehicles needing service and repair as they are coming out of their manufacturer's warranty.
We have all the relevant equipment and experience needed to work on both hybrid and electric air conditioning systems. Most of these systems are similar to a traditional air-con system but use an electrically-driven compressor instead of a belt-driven compressor. These use a different type of oil and it is incredibly important that these are not mixed up as this can cause catastrophic damage to the compressor, and also the potential to create a short circuit that could lead to severe electrocution or even death.
Many of these types of vehicles use the a/c to keep the batteries and also the electrical components cool. Keeping these cool is a very important factor in prolonging the life of the batteries.
We deal with hybrid and full electric systems, HFO-1234yf systems and Co2 (R-744) when available.
Prices vary depending on the type of refrigerant and also the type of hybrid system. Please call for a quote.
We have been offering a service to many body shops and main dealers all over the south-east for in excess of 25 years now, so are very experienced within the crash repair industry. We have all the relevant training and calibration certificates to ensure we comply with PAS regulations.
We offer a mobile service for cases where coming to us is not an option. We have the ability to work without the need for 240-volt mains power to run our machines, which is sometimes required when working on a site.
Sometimes, we are required to offer a mobile service for private customers when the vehicle is off the road or is not a vehicle which is road registered, such as maybe a bulldozer, logging truck or even a GT3 race car. We have to charge an additional fee depending on how far away you are and what kind of vehicle it is. Please be aware that during the summer months, trade customers requiring mobile may need to wait a little longer due to high demand at our workshop.
Sometimes, when a compressor fails or needs replacing, the a/c system will need flushing.
We have various different ways of doing this depending on the condition of the compressor removed and the condition of the oil in the system.
Please contact us for more information.
We have the ability to repair most A/C pipes, and also fabricate new pipes. Sometimes pipes can be very expensive to buy, as many have to come from the main dealer and sometimes are very difficult to replace.
In many cases, we are able to repair them inhouse or source them at a much lower price from an alternative supplier.
We keep a huge variety of fittings in stock so are often able to repair on the same day.
The main job of a cabin filter or pollen filter is to remove any dust and plant particles, fungus and spores and some of the pollutants in the air from entering the cabin before it is cooled, dried and then heated back up to a suitable temperature. The filter, which is similar in appearance to an engine air filter, is made up of electrostatic paper and in most cases, they have a carbon layer in them to help reduce smells coming in from outside.
Cabin filters are a very important part of the air conditioning system and heater and should be replaced every year or 2 depending on the amount of use and the vehicle.
Failure to maintain them can lead to a poor performing heater and air conditioner and the de-misting function of the blowers. It can also cause premature failure of expensive blower motors and the speed controllers for them. In extreme cases where the filter has been removed and left for long periods, we have found leaking evaporators and heater matrix’s due to a build-up of dust, dirt and hair.
Most filters are less than £20 and fitting is often a 5 min job although some filters on some of the high-end Germans brands can be very expensive due to the complexity of them; some of these use multiple filters. Please contact us for a price.
Most vehicles built pre-1993 were fitted with R-12 systems. As R-12 contains CFC, it has not been available since 2001 due to potential damage to the ozone layer. Vehicles built before 1993 often need converting to R-134a, which requires a little more work than just a
regas and in many cases, a new receiver dryer is recommended.
Prices generally start from about £120+VAT, but this is dependent on the vehicle and its age. Please call for further info.
